For easier monitoring, access and cleaning, it can also be shifted to one side. The two-stage preconditioner distinguishes the zone of blending from the zone of retention. This ensures maximum, vigourous blending at high screw speeds, as well as gentle retention at low screw speeds over a narrow time span.
