In 2017 Woods Grain contracted LGPM to design and construct an expansion to their existing Feedmill in Goondoowindi.
The upgrade of the Plant includes a complete second 30 Tonne per Hour Pelleting line for the production of Poultry Feed.
The design of the Plant allows for complete segregation of the new and existing pelleting lines enabling the safe manufacture of both ruminant and monogastric feeds in the one facility.
The project included a dedicated batch weigher for Restricted Animal Materials (RAM), such as meat meal for the Monogastric line, individual batch mixers and a new liquids inclusion system for post pellet coating, for a highly accurate addition of fat and oil coatings to finished pellets.
According to the National Sales Manager, Mark Hawes, Woods Grain prides themselves on being a market leader in process technology and quality of equipment, which matches LGPM’s core values.

It features high-temperature, long retention double conditioning on the pellet press to ensure maximum retention for hygienic mash conditioning, a double deck cooler for faster recipe changeover and the latest Andritz Feedmax pellet press from Denmark." he said.
Woods Grains CEO, Mr Tom Woods, working with LGPM and various equipment manufacturers has taken a hands-on approach to the specification of the Plant, right down to the Paint Colour of the machinery to differentiate the equipment in the new Process line for operators and customers alike.
LGPM’s scope includes the in-house design and manufacture of all Conveyors, Bins, Hoppers, Chutes, and Slide Gates, as well as sourcing and installing key equipment from global OEM Manufacturers.
The project is nearing completion and is due for commissioning in the second quarter of 2018.
